Grazier. Migrated from Cornwall to Australia as a child. Owner of Stanfieldproperty. Bought Greshamand ran into financial difficulties, but saved by son Ian’s planting of wheat on Stanfield. Ian told enquirers that his father was very quiet and talked little. His sheep, shepherds, dogs and bees were his main interest. Bessie Glasson says that her mother, Katie, was a governess to John Glasson’s first family, a service for which she was paid 1/6d per week. Dot Lister was their maid and was paid 6d per week. |
