Twin of Edmund Mr. Thomas Herbert Webb, of Burwood, whose remains were interred in the Rookwood Cemetery on Monday, was 76 years of age. He was the son of the late Mr. Thomas Geake Webb, of Springfield Station, Byng, and a nephew of the late Mr. Edmund Webb, M.L.C., of Bathurst. He was educated at Newington College. He entered the service of the old Australian Joint Stock Bank at the age of 18 years, and after a few years took up pastoral pursuits, first on his own account, but later as manager of stations held by the Bank of New South Wales. In association with the late Mr. R. L. Gilmour, of Bathampton, Bathurst, he greatly assisted in the development of country on the Diamantina River, Queensland. Mrs. Webb, three sons (Messrs. Ronald, Lance, and Neville Webb), and one daughter (Mrs. Valerie O’Riordan) survive him. |
