From Trerithick, Altarnun

To the memory of Edward Nicolls. Yeoman of this parish, who died Dec. 16th, 1843 aged 85 years.

This is the Edward Nicolls who was an infant when John Wesley visited Trerithick as hereafter referred to, and kneeling down, with his hand on the child’s head, Mr. Wesley prayed that God’s blessing might rest upon him.
