Said to have no children, but SA Register of 21 Aug 1891 shows Thomas Augustus Ponton, son of Thomas Fox Ponton died in South Australia. TFP was a wine merchant of 16 Queen’s Row, Grove Lane, Camberwell trading at 5 Water Lane, London. Bankruptcy noted in The London Gazette of 28 Feb 1871. There is an earlier marriage of Thomas Fox Ponton in 1854 to Mary Augusta Mongrulisa. Father or first marriage? Was Thomas Augustus (b. 1857 Greenwich) son of the first marriage, as his name suggests? Other possible children are Alfred Lothian Ponton (b. 1859 in Greenwich) and Alison Ponton (b. 1855 in Greenwich). | ||
