The death occurred on Sunday, of Mr. William House, a well-known resident of Katoomba. The deceased, who was 63 at the time of his demise, was born, in Ottery, Devon, England. He arrived in Sydney in his twenty-fifth year. He has left two daughters and five sons, to mourn their loss. The late Mr House had been a resident of Katoomba for close on 20 years, and prior to his coming to the Mountains he was in the employ of the Australian Gas Co. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, and was largely attended, the interment taking place in the Katoomba general cemetery, according to the rites of the Plymouth Brethren, of which persuasion deceased was a member. The immediate cause of death was heart trouble. |
