General servant, Railway Porter, Grocer. Arrived in Australia aboard SS Liguria on 2 December 1880. Said to have emigrated from England because his parents were concerned about the health of their children. Two older sons had died, one from probable tuberculosis. Frank must have reported favourably on life in Australia because his younger brother Alfred emigrated about one year later. Lived at 176 Young St Annandale. (Which we assume was his shop.) Said to have learned all about running a groceryin England before emigration. |
