From 8th to 12th June, 1917, at PLOEGSTEERT WOOD this N.C.O. has shown gallantry and devotion to duty whilst in charge of the Stretcher Bearers carrying between a R.A.P. and the A.D.S. CHARING CROSS, showing a splendid example to his men. On the morning of 9th June, 1917, whilst proceeding up MESSINES ROAD under heavy shell fire he was able to get three cases back to the Dressing Station. On the morning of 10th June, 1917, under fire Sergeant LEE assisted to remove wounded from the dump near HYDE PARK CORNER, Divisional Collecting Post.
