Was heir to his father’s printing business (see the will (link broken)). Andrew and Elizabeth had a prenuptual agreement that involved Elizabeth’s father, Peter Cheyne. After Peter's death on 11 July 1844, Andrew and Elizabeth disputed the distribution of his will in the Supreme Court in Edinburgh in 1847. It appears they lost the case. [broken links]
