Yarmouth Tory politician and Yarmouth borough magistrate. A great supporter of Conservative principles. Became JP in 1846. Lived at South Quay and then for many years at 3 Camperdown-place, Yarmouth.

He may be the William Thurtell who bought Bacon’s Manor at auction in the Star Inn, Yarmouth on 20 May 1843 with Arthur Steward.

Deceased estate was worth £12,000. No surviving children.
