The death occurred suddenly at her residence, Clifford-street, Goulburn, on Sunday morning, 10th inst., of Mrs. Phoebe Matilda Horan, aged 80, widow of, the late Rody Horan. Mrs. Horan had not experienced a day’s serious illness during her life-time, and news of her death came as a great shock to the many who knew her. Mrs. Horan, who was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hector Dallas, was born in Clifford-street, in a house adjoining her late residence. Her whole life was spent in Goulburn. Despite her great age Mrs. Horan could read without the aid of glasses right up to the time of her death, and also carried out the bookkeeping duties in connection with her son’s boot-repairing business. The late Mrs. Horan was a devoted Catholic, and was a member of the Hibernian Society. She is survived by six daughters, Mesdames H. Peirce, F. Kraushaar, Owen Martin (Sydney), H. Fay and G. McCullum (Newcastle), and Miss M. Horan (Goulburn), and one son, Percy (Goulburn). The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, leaving SS. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral, for the Kenmore Cemetery. — R.I.P. | ||
