Migrated to Australia in 1841. Listed as Tailor in the 1841 census of England. DEATH OF MR. JOSEPH GLASSON.— It is with regret we have to announce the death of Mr. Joseph Glasson, Guyong, which took place at his residence at 10 o'clock on Friday last. Mr. Glasson, who was descended from a good old English stock, was born in Cornwall. He has been in the colony for a period of 51 years. Mr. Glasson was a quiet unobtrusive personage, and by thrift and industry had amassed a decent competence, by means of which he was able to purchase valuable landed property at Guyong. The deceased who was 75 years of age was a brother of Mr. Richard Glasson of Guyong. For the last five years the late Mr. J. Glasson had suffered from Paralysis, which was the cause of death. A large concourse of people followed the remains to the Millthorpe cemetery on Sunday. The Rev. Mr. Weston read the burial service at the grave. |
